Tugs

At noon three English dowagers ride,
Stiff of neck and dignified,
Margaret, Maud and Mary Blake,
With servile barges in their wake;
But silhouetted at midnight,
Darkly, by green and crimson light,
Three Nubian queens pass down the Thames,
Statelily with flashing gems.
